                   "Leaders Lighting the Way!"

Junction Elementary School is the home of the
Junction Jaguars!  We are in our seventh year
open, and currently have 750 students,
Kindergarten to fifth grade. We have a dedicated,
loving staff that maintains a high level of academic
rigor for our students.

In 2010, Junction School was awarded a grant for,
"The Leader in Me", through the Panda Corporation.
This grant supports our staff and students as we
further develop our 21st Century and leadership
skills.
Through teaching students the,
7 Habits of Highly Effective People
, by Stephen
Covey, we are able to guide our students in
becoming leaders in their lives and make contributions
in the lives of others.

The Habits are:

1. Be Proactive
2. Begin With The End In Mind
3. Put First Things First
4. Think Win-Win
5. Seek First To Understand, Then To Be
Understood
6. Synergize
7. Sharpen the Saw
* 8th Habit- Find Your Voice

By developing the whole child, both academically
and personally, we create an atmosphere that is
caring, compassionate, and principle-centered.
Our students are able to become personal Leaders
in their own lives, and learn to find their voice in our
community.

Junction Families-

No School
There is no school on Monday, May 30 in observance of Memorial Day.

Luau
Our annual Luau is Thursday,  from 5:30-7.  Today is the last day to turn in your order for Kazoku.  Please see the attached order form.

Absences
Students who do NOT attend school, may not come to after school activities the day they are absent.

Yearbooks
Yearbooks will be handed out on Wednesday, June 1st to those who have pre-purchased a yearbook.

Supply List
Attached you will find the supply list for next year.  For your convenience, you can order through our family owned business, Box Of Supplies.  This company will order supplies on the list for your grade level, box them up and deliver them straight to your child’s classroom.  This is an optional service. If you would like to purchase the supplies at your favorite retailer, you may.  All supplies must come with your student on the first day of school; please do not drop supplies of in the office.  Please do not label the supplies with your child’s name, as supplies are shared in the classroom.  Bringing supplies is not mandatory, but highly suggested, as the district does not provide supplies to the schools.

Not Returning?
Please inform the office if you are not planning on attending Junction in the Fall,  in order to have accurate class counts for the next school year.

Medications At School
If your child is currently taking medications at school - either on a daily or as needed basis - the office needs a new medication form every school year. The school district health assistance will send you a new medication form for next year and a reminder to pick up the medications before the end of this year. We will not carry medication orders over to the new school year. If your child has a severe food or bee sting allergy, you will receive forms to renew antihistamine and EpiPen orders for the new school year. If your child develops a need to take any medication at school (over the counter or prescription) the office has to have the appropriate forms that you and your doctor must complete.

Lost and Found
Please stop by the lost and found pile to check for your child’s missing items.  We have small items in the office, such as jewelry and glasses.  All items left will be donated to a local charity.

Have a safe and fun 3 day weekend!
