Roseville City School District

Parent and Staff Communication: March 26, 2020
Extended School Closure Communication

Article

Thank you for your trust and patience as we work together to navigate this ever-changing situation in our nation.

Schools in the Roseville City School District will remain closed through May 1, 2020, to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community. This is a unified decision made in consultation with the Placer County Health Officer, Placer County Office of Education, and the Roseville City School District Board of Education. We hope to have students return to our schools on May 4, 2020.  However, teachers and parents must plan for the genuine possibility that schools remain closed through the end of the school year.

Continuous learning for all students will begin on Tuesday, April 14, 2020.  You will receive a communication from your principal on Monday, March 30, to schedule an instructional materials pickup from your child’s school before Spring Break.  Additionally, if you require a device to access online lessons and materials, please click on the RCSD Technology Deployment link for dates, times, locations, and the Student Mobile Device Loaner Agreement.  The loaner devices are for those students who have no other means to access online lessons and content. Meal service will continue as planned for March 30 – April 3. Please click on the Parent Resources tab located at the top right corner of the RCSD Continuous Learning website for additional information related to school closures.

As our district community navigates this difficult time, we must continue to follow the “shelter-in-place” order issued by Governor Newsom and stay home except for essential activities.

We all want children back in school and for our communities to return to normalcy as soon as possible. But not at the risk of their health and safety. Information is changing rapidly, and we will continue to update our website regularly, so make sure to bookmark rcsdk8.org and RCSD Continuous Learning for the most up-to-date information and resources.

I greatly appreciate your patience and hope you and your family stay safe and healthy.
