Parent and Staff Communication: March 18, 2020
These are unprecedented times. As a District, we are working through issues I’ve never experienced in my 24-year career in public education. I want to provide you with a few updates based on the information we have right now. The Roseville City School District Office and all schools will be closed from March 18 – April 13, 2020, in compliance with guidance from Placer County Health and the State of California. All essential employees (district management, principals, and teachers) are working remotely and available to assist you with questions or concerns via email. Please check the Roseville City School District website (rcsdk8.org) for specific email addresses.
Our teachers are preparing for the genuine possibility of extended school closures through May 2020. They are thoughtfully planning for six-weeks worth of distance learning experiences for all students to be implemented on April 14, 2020, if the school closures are extended. I urge you to begin planning for extended school closures, too.
If school closures extend beyond Spring Break, we will work with those families who need a Chromebook and internet access for their students to engage in distance learning.
The Roseville City School District is committed to serving our children nutritious meals during the current school closure. To that end, we continue to serve breakfast from 7:30 – 8:30 and lunches from 11:00 – 12:30 at the following school locations:
- Cirby Elementary School
- Woodbridge Elementary School
- Eich Middle School
- Buljan Middle School
Each bag contains two meals – breakfast and lunch. Food is distributed in the school cafeterias.
Thank you for your kindness, flexibility, and grace as we navigate through these uncertain times. We commit to doing our absolute best to care for our families, staff, and students during this global health crisis. We look forward to opening our schools soon and will promise to stay in touch.
