As we “fall” into a new school year routine and a new season, I am feeling extra thankful to lead a school district full of eager and ready-to-be challenged students and staff. What more could I ask for?

Our families, staff and school board members create a community of schools, making each day a valuable opportunity for our more than 11,000 students to shine. This fall, while I give thanks to the familiar faces I get to work alongside every day, I am pleased to welcome two new school board members who will join our hard-working and dedicated team of RCSD Champions.

The Roseville City School District Board of Education ensures our district policies, goals and programs are maximized for each and every one of our students. It is their dedication to this mission that helps to form the foundation of what we are all thankful for: an inclusive, safe and caring educational environment for our community’s children.

Together with Board President Alisa Fong, Clerk Julie Constant and board member Gary Miller, we welcome two new board members: Rob Baquera and Valerie Gross. They each ran unopposed in and will be sworn into office on December 13, 2018, at 6 pm at 1050 Main Street, Roseville. CA. The public is invited to attend.

Rob joins the board after serving as a Roseville City School District Foundation board member. Rob supports a strong emphasis on leadership development throughout our district which fosters a common goal of success.

Valerie served three years as the Stoneridge PTC president, developing the leadership and experience to be a successful school board member. Valerie supports educational philosophies that put our children first, preparing them to be 21st-century citizens with programs such as STEAM and Eich’s IB.

Our school board consists of five tireless individuals with who devote themselves to making our District’s students a top priority. Thanks to their efforts, we can continue a longstanding tradition of developing and delivering unique educational programs to every child.

When it comes to your child’s education, what are you most thankful for? Drop me a line, I’d love to know. dgarcia@rcsdk8.org
