“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” -Gandhi

Dear Parents,

Welcome to Room 15! This year, along with exciting and challenging curriculum, I will be placing a special emphasis on respect and responsibility. I expect the children to demonstrate kind and respectful behavior toward each other and each other’s property. Therefore I will be encouraging and rewarding positive behaviors in this classroom. I also foster individual responsibility, which includes having students take their time and do their best work. I believe that these skills are lifelong and particularly important at school.
I feel that communication between home and school is extremely important as well. For that reason, the purpose of my weekly newsletters is to coordinate and inform you of what is being taught and implemented in our classroom: our learning environment, discipline, as well as parent, student, and teacher involvement. My aim is to keep you informed of situations that occur in the classroom, to spotlight certain activities, inform you of school or class requirements, and to provide the basis of discussion between you and your child. I look forward to a great year in helping your child gain the best possible results in second and third grade!
