Presentations:

  • 2025 California Dashboard: The Board of Education will learn about the 2025 California School Dashboard and, most specifically, the Dashboard data for the Roseville City School District. The Dashboard displays the performance of local educational agencies (LEAs), schools, and student groups on a set of state and local indicators to assist in identifying strengths, challenges, and areas needing improvement. It goes beyond test scores and measures six areas: academic performance, chronic absenteeism, college/career readiness, English learner progress, graduation, and suspension rates. District staff will share data from 2024-25, which measures the growth of student outcomes. These are essential indicators of how schools are growing and improving.

Action Matters:

  • Accept the Independent Auditor’s Report for the Period Ending June 30, 2025: Each year, as required by the State of California, the District undergoes an independent audit of its funds and accounting practices. It is submitted to the State Controller’s Office and the State Department of Education. Jesse Deol, representing James Marta & Company LLP, will discuss the audit document.
  • Approve the First Interim Financial Report for the Period Ending October 31, 2025: As required by the Education Code, this is the District’s financial report through October 31, 2025. Proposed budget revisions for the Board’s review and approval will also be presented.
  • Approve of School Principal for Winding Creek Elementary School effective the start of the 2026-2027 school year: Interviews for the Winding Creek Elementary School principal position are being conducted utilizing a two-part process comprised of a presentation and an interview with Executive Cabinet and a Board Member.
  • Action to maintain current grade level configurations for Chilton Middle School and its five feeder elementary schools for the 2026-27 school year:  At the recommendation of staff, the Board of Education took action at its December 2024 school board meeting to transition Chilton Middle School to a 7th and 8th grade level configuration to accommodate student enrollment growth in west Roseville starting in the 2026-27 school year. Additionally, the Board of Education approved a transition for five elementary schools that feed into Chilton Middle School to become TK-6th grades in 2026-27. The grade level configuration changes were communicated to all impacted staff, students, and families.

In August 2025, the Board of Education approved a contract with Woolpert to conduct an updated enrollment projection study. Data from the recently completed study requires us to take a holistic approach that will impact all four middle school feeder patterns starting in the 2027-28 school year. Boundary adjustments of this magnitude will take, approximately, five months of study, recommendations, community outreach, approval, and communications. Staff will begin working with the Board of Education on the boundary project in January 2026.

Therefore, staff recommends the Board of Education take action to maintain the current grade level configurations for Chilton Middle School (6th – 8th); Junction Elementary School (TK-5); Orchard Ranch Elementary School (TK-5); Riego Creek Elementary School (TK-5); Westbrook Elementary School (TK-5); and Winding Creek Elementary School (TK-5).
