Hello, Westbrook Elementary!

This month RCSD officially broke ground on its newest school, Westbrook Elementary! The Roseville City School District Board of Education, district staff, Roseville City Council, and city staff were all on-site for the occasion along with our architect and construction crews.

Located at 4510 Solaire Drive in Roseville, Westbrook is the 21st school in the district and will serve up to 800 students at full enrollment. With ongoing growth in Roseville, the new school will allow RCSD to continue offering high-quality education, facilities, and programs for all district families.

We look forward to welcoming hundreds of students to this new campus in 2023, and we are so excited to see our RCSD family grow!

Update from our Maintenance Team

We’re grateful to our gardeners for helping beautify an area of Kaseberg Elementary. The school had to remove a beloved Ash Tree for safety issues, and the gardening team filled the hole and replaced the tree with a sign displaying an uplifting message for students. The project also includes rocks colored by 240 students, which were placed into new cement.

Now, this special spot can be enjoyed for generations of students to come!

Hiring News

You bet we’re hiring! As a growing district, we are thrilled to provide jobs to many RCSD family members and members of our local community. While we have full-time positions available such as Information Systems Technician at the District office, we also offer part-time roles that may align with your child’s school hours. We know it’s a challenge to balance work with raising a family, so roles like Instructional Assistant and Cafeteria Site Cashier may offer hours that will allow you to pick up and drop off your child at school with time to breathe. We have open positions available that range in flexibility. Check out our open positions at edjoin.org/RCSDK8. We’d love to have you join our #RCSDChampions family!
Superintendent's Corner

I can’t be the only one thrilled to see the warmer weather making its way back into our daily lives. Seeing our students enjoying the sun during recess and in our outdoor, flexible learning spaces makes me excited for spring, a time for renewal and growth. I’ve recently been privy to a rousing game of kickball on the blacktop of one of our elementary schools and I have to say – I am impressed with the way our students can organize themselves and enjoy friendly competition. There’s something about the pure joy and ‘sticktoitiveness’ these students display when they’re enjoying being active in the warm weather. It reminds me that no matter the age, we all should have goals and inspirations.

As Superintendent, a major focus of mine is to help our district balance our growth with our ability to continue providing services and education to each of our students at the highest level of excellence possible. This means maintaining sustainable programs and staffing along with building new schools to alleviate the high enrollment numbers in our newer neighborhoods. As part of our sustainable growth plan, I am eager to announce that RCSD has officially broken ground on Westbrook Elementary School, our 21st school site, and our third new site in West Roseville. Westbrook Elementary will allow us to provide facilities, programs, and staffing for up to 800 students at full enrollment. We expect to welcome hundreds of students to this new campus in 2023 and look forward to hearing the community’s feedback!

Sincerely,

Derk Garcia
Superintendent
