Student Registration

Our priority registration window is available now through February 17, 2023, for all new and returning students, including those seeking an interdistrict or intradistrict transfer.

Please note the following schools are closed to transfers for the 2023-24 school year due to growth, projected growth, and overflow challenges as more residents move into new homes in the area.
  • Chilton Middle School
  • Blue Oaks Elementary
  • Diamond Creek Elementary
  • Fiddyment Farm Elementary
  • Junction Elementary
  • Orchard Ranch Elementary
  • Riego Creek Elementary
No new intradistrict or interdistrict transfers will be accepted in these schools. Siblings of students currently attending one of these schools in 2022-23, and who will continue to attend in 2023-24, may request a transfer during the priority window and will be considered on a space-available basis.

For current 5th grade students only: Placement of 6th grade students is based on the student’s home address, not the school they currently attend. Please go to My School Location to identify your student's assigned middle school for the upcoming 2023-24 school year.

As a reminder, all students, even those returning to their same school, MUST complete the online registration process. This is a huge help so RCSD can best prepare to meet and accommodate all our students' needs.

If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s school or contact the District Office at 916-771-1600.

Facilities Update

This month we’re spotlighting some improvements at our elementary schools. Take a look at the newly updated fencing at Thomas Jefferson (left) and Sargeant (right) Elementary Schools! The new fencing, which is built higher than the old fencing in many spots, was installed recently at several school sites. The update is both aesthetically pleasing and enhances the safety of our children on school campuses.
A big "thank you" to our team members who tackled campus cleanups following the recent rain storms in our area! We saw fallen trees and broken branches in many spots, and we appreciate their hard work in removing the debris and ensuring everything is safe for our students.
Progress on Westbrook Elementary

Every day we are getting closer to the completion of Westbrook Elementary, RCSD’s 21st school! Westbrook will open its doors to students this August and will eventually serve 800 students at capacity. The school is located on the west side of Roseville at 4501 Solaire Drive, on the corner of Solaire Drive and Westbrook Drive.

"Today, RCSD serves more than 11,000 students from preschool through 8th grade," said Superintendent Derk Garcia. "With the incredible growth we still see in Roseville, it’s important to open our newest school as soon as possible to better serve students in our District. This will allow us to maintain the quality of education RCSD proudly offers to all families."

The District has been working with builder Clark Sullivan and architect Arch Nexus to feature a brand-new design, which will reflect the high-quality design and construction District families have come to expect from RCSD.

Your RCSD Board of Trustees

RCSD’s Board is made up of five members who are elected at-large from within our District to serve a four-year term. Every two years, either two or three board member seats are eligible for re-election.

Following the 2022 election, Jonathan Zachreson joined RCSD’s Board as a newly elected school board member, while incumbents Alisa Fong and Rob Baquera were re-elected. They join existing board members Julie Constant and Meghan Krafka.

Please join us in welcoming Jonathan and thanking all our board members for their service to our District and community. You can read more about our school board members here

Have you ever noticed that without a plan, time just starts flying by, and we don’t accomplish as much? I have found time and time again that developing and instituting a solid plan helps keep us on track and accountable – both individually and as a whole.

I carry that philosophy through all my work at RCSD, and that’s why I’m ready to help each of you plan for 2023-2024! Yes, it’s already that time: Priority registration and after-school care options for the next school year are officially underway.

Priority registration for new RCSD students runs through February 17, 2023, so take advantage of this time and enroll your student as soon as possible. This will allow your family to be organized for the 2023-2024 school year, ensuring your best opportunity to reserve a spot at your preferred school site.

In 2023-2024, we have some exciting developments on our school sites, especially for younger elementary school students. Both our Transitional Kindergarten and regular Kindergarten programs will offer expanded hours, which will be helpful to families while also benefiting these young learners. Be on the lookout for a new after-school program at every elementary school in the 2023-24 school year. In conjunction with the City of Roseville’s Adventure Club, RCSD contracted with Right at School to coordinate our Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) and provide options for onsite, after-school care for every family who needs their children in a supervised setting after school. Visit rightatschool.com or Adventure Club to learn more and register for one of the after-school programs!

As much as I enjoy being present in this academic year, I always get equally enthusiastic as I look ahead at the great things (and students) to come at RCSD. If you have any questions about registration or enrollment for 2023-2024, our office is available to help.

Let’s dig into February and make some good plans!

Sincerely,

Derk Garcia
Superintendent
