Agenda Highlights
Consent Items:
- Approval of Google Workspace for Education Plus with Gemini: Staff recommends approval of Google Workspace for Education Plus with Gemini to support a phased, districtwide implementation of artificial intelligence tools. This initiative is intended to improve staff productivity, support instructional planning, enhance operational efficiency, and strengthen collaboration across the District. Artificial intelligence is rapidly becoming a standard part of both instructional and operational practices in K-12 education. The District has established a foundation for responsible AI use through existing Board Policy data privacy agreements, including BP 6163.4, Student Use of Technology, and BP 4040, Employee Use of Technology, and planned parent consent structures for the 2026/27 school year. With these safeguards in place, the District is prepared to move from policy development to implementation through a structured and responsible rollout.
- 2025 School Plans for Student Achievement: The School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) is developed in accordance with the California Education Code and is aligned with the district’s Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). The SPSA for each site outlines targeted goals, actions, and expenditures designed to improve student outcomes and ensure equitable access to highquality instruction for all students. The plan reflects a data-driven approach to increasing student achievement in core academic areas, closing opportunity and achievement gaps, and building staff capacity through professional learning.
Public Hearings:
- School Mitigation Fee Justification Study & School Facility Needs Analysis (SFNA): The School Mitigation Fee Justification Study and School Facilities Needs Analysis was available before this public hearing and the appropriate announcements were made in the Press Tribune. This public hearing is an opportunity for the public to comment on the District’s facility needs and the intent to adopt fees on new development.
Action Items:
- Purchase of Five (5) Shade Structures for Five (5) Elementary Schools: Staff is recommending the purchase and installation of one shade structure at each of the following school sites: Blue Oaks 1531 Page 14 of 1579Elementary School, Fiddyment Farm Elementary School, Gates Elementary School, Orchard Ranch Elementary School, and Thomas Jefferson Elementary School. The addition of shaded areas will enhance student comfort and safety by reducing sun exposure and will allow outdoor spaces to be used more consistently throughout the school day and across seasons.
- Proposed Boundary Adjustments 2027-28: Following presentations at the March 12, 2026, and April 23, 2026, Board meetings, as well as the April 8, 2026, Special Meeting: Boundary Adjustment Study Session, staff has continued to refine proposed school attendance boundary adjustments based on the recent enrollment study. This item provides an updated overview of the proposed boundary changes and requests Board review and approval of the option that best aligns with the District’s long-term enrollment and facility needs.
