Roseville City School District

RCSD Parent Communication: April 24, 2020

Article

We in Roseville City School District want to start out by thanking all of you – parents, guardians, and students. We realize that distance learning can be challenging. We wanted to let you know that we are so proud of your efforts over the first two weeks and so thankful for your teamwork! This would not be a successful endeavor without you! Many parents and guardians are still working and trying to balance school with so many added pressures at home – we recognize this and say Thanks! Many of our students in Roseville City are also working so hard, connecting with their teachers, completing and submitting tasks, and facing the challenges of learning independently.

For all that you have done and for all you continue to do, the entire RCSD staff wants to say THANK YOU!

Parent Resource Page – Please remember to check out our Parent Resource Website Page to find support and recent communication documents.

3rd-Trimester Report Card – At the end of the school year, all students (TK-8) will receive one of the following two comments, for each teacher, on their report card:

The student participated in Distance Learning and will be going on to the next grade level.

Interventions were provided, including site administrator and psychologist/counselor, and the student rarely participated in Distance Learning.  The parent should set up a meeting with the site administrator prior to school starting in 2020-2021.

This code would be used only if interventions such as the use of a counselor and multiple supportive outreach attempts have been exhausted.

Elementary students will also be provided with the following information on their 3rd-Trimester report card:

Two sentences on what the student has done well throughout the school year

One sentence on a skill or area that the student could continue to work on.

Quote: Imperfections are not inadequacies; they are reminders that we're all in this together. - Brene Brown

Have a wonderful weekend and remember to reach out to your child’s teacher or administrator if we in RCSD can assist you further.  We are here for you!

Be Well,

Jamey Schrey
Deputy Superintendent
