The Role of the English Language Advisory Committee

The English Language Advisory Committee shall carry out all duties and responsibilities assigned to it by policies and guidelines set forth by the California Department of Education. These duties include:

  • Advise on the Comprehensive School Plan programs and services for English Learners;
  • Ensure School Needs Assessment is administered;
  • Ensure administration, review, and provide input of school’s annual language census (R30-LC); and
  • Create awareness in the parent community on the importance of regular school attendance.

Meeting Information

The first ELAC meeting for the 2017-18 school year was on Monday, December 11th at 3:30 p.m. in the staff lounge in the front office of the school. At this time, the ELAC motioned to have the School Site Council (SSC) take over the ELAC responsibilities for the 2017-18 school year. Please refer to the SSC tab on our school website to view
future agendas for ELAC topics. The agenda for these meetings are posted on the school website and in the front office and always a minimum of 72 hours before the meeting.
