My name is Megan Spears and I am so excited to be returning to Orchard Ranch as a 4th grade teacher. I have a bachelor’s degree in Child Development from Sacramento State University, a Cleared Multiple Subject Credential, a Master’s in Education from UC Davis, and a Preliminary Administrative Services Credential from Placer County Office of Education. Because each child comes to me with unique experiences, interests, and learning styles, I believe his/her education needs to be customized. I make every effort to do that. My goal is to truly know your child well and use this knowledge to guide, support, and motivate him/her. I embrace the premise that intelligence is not fixed, but instead with the right support and hard work, intelligence can be grown. All day each day we talk about and practice the Growth Mindset so that each student believes and discovers that with perseverance and smart work anything is possible. I believe that good teaching requires continual professional development, personal reflection and collaboration. I value parent involvement at every level and encourage you to partner with me to give your child the most powerful and joyous learning experience possible. Technology has also become a huge part of my classroom. As a google certified educator, the integration of technology into the curriculum and the classroom allows for the development of real-life skills and knowledge on the students’ behalf. I help facilitate and encourage this development so my students will be successful in all aspects of their education, as well as in their future.
