Roseville City School District

Superintendent’s Message
February, 2020

Article

It’s no secret that the month of February is associated with L-O-V-E.  Below are five things I love about our community of schools:

Our education foundation – I might not love running, but I do love the Roseville City School District Foundation’s annual Run4Roseville Schools fundraiser. Lace up your tennies Sunday, April 26, 2020, and meet at Cooley Middle School to help raise funds to support our districtwide music program. Register now at rcsdfoundation.org/run4roseville!

Seeing growth – I love that our city’s growth means we get to welcome new students into the RCSD family. Speaking of which, new and returning student registration is now live! Families are encouraged to register early so the District can appropriately plan for staffing and programming to ensure each student’s needs are met with the level of excellence families have come to expect from RCSD. Still need to register your child? Head to rcsdk8.org/student-registration to complete online!

A big family – I love that student growth translates to adding more certificated and classified positions to the RCSD family. Yes, we are on the hunt for qualified, caring teachers, but the real challenge is staffing hard-to-fill positions such as special education, instructional aides and coaches. Do you know someone who could be the perfect fit for our growing family? Send them to check out open positions at edjoin.org/RCSDK8!

History – I love that our District is celebrating 150 years of rich history in Roseville. Since 1869, the educators, families and community members of RCSD have helped shape the District and our future leaders by putting children at the center of every decision we make. Do you know of an influential or inspiring alumni or special student who deserves to be highlighted during our 150 year celebration? Share your ideas, photos and stories with us at bit.ly/rcsd150.

Embracing all the roles I play – I love every role I play and hat I wear. Thank you for letting me strive to be the best learner, husband, educator, team leader, father, superintendent and friend that I can be.

I’d love to read your list of what you love about our District. Drop me a line at dgarcia@rscdk8.org
